your shots are remarkable, looks different, is it because you use Canon?:) lightings are perfect too - what strobes do you use?

Sir I am using Sea and Sea YS-110 strobes.
But I have since sold them and upgraded to Inon Z240.
I will be testing the Inon Z240 this weekend. Hopefully I can get some good shots.

Lots of other fellows tried to get a good of this very same object without any success, and you nailed it nicely, this is the best shot of the similar coral as far as I have seen (in this forum). Like the composition in particular!

Hm, just wondering why you change YS-110 to Z-240? Any special reasons?

Erwin,
On this particular dive one of my YS-110s died on me. We dove in a unfamiliar site, lets just say after 1 hour of searching, I got bored and took a picture of this anemone. As I’ve said … I am just a average Joe, with dumb luck that is all.
The reason I switched to the Inon Z240s is bec. they produce greater power and faster recycle time. With the YS-110s the highest aperture I could go without changing my ISO: 100, was f/16 if I went to a smaller aperture it will all be under exposed.
With my new Inon z240 - I an shoot at 1/250, F/32, and not have a problem even at ISO:100 lots of light available to me.

I see, so other than those, you don’t have any particular reasons I guess
I agree with you, I’d change to Z240 if I want bigger power and faster recycle time (I have a pair of new YS-110 now, and still using my old Inon D2000 until recently)

On several times, when i was trying to take shots of predation. By the time my strobe would recycle the predator would have swallowed the prey. With the Inon z240 - it only takes 3 seconds for recycle to full power. I think the recycle time of the YS-110 is 6 seconds.
I have a supplier in Malaysia of Inon products that have good prices.
